In many cases our cultural experience are made exploring sacred places!! From the Ancient city made by Tayrona People to the most complex funeral rituals in the world passing through majestic temples in Cambodia and Myanmar and discovering wonderful local cultures in Vietnam. I’m glad to present you my favourite 10 cultural experiences of 2015!

10) LUANG PRABANG – LAOS

 

Luang Prabang is exceptional for both its rich architectural and artistic heritage that reflects the fusion of Lao traditional urban architecture with that of the colonial era!

9) GOLDEN ROCK – MYANMAR

 

A glimpse of the “gravity defying” Golden Rock is believed to be enough of an inspiration for any person to turn to Buddhism!

8) SANTUARIO LAS LAJAS – COLOMBIA

 

The present church was built in Gothic Revival style between 1916 and 1949. The name Laja comes from the name of a type of flat sedimentary rock similar to shale….


7) THE LOST CITY – COLOMBIA

 

Here is a sacred place (Ciudad Perdida or Lost City) and It is believed to have been founded about 800 CE, some 650 years earlier than Machu Picchu….

6) THE NURAGHE – SARDINIA,ITALY

The Nuraghe is the main type of ancient megalithic edifice found in Sardinia, Italy, and developed during the Nuragic Age between 1900 and 730 BCE. Today it has come to be the symbol of Sardinia and its distinctive culture, the Nuragic civilization.


5) ANGKOR WAT – CAMBODIA

 

The largest religious monument in the world. It was first a Hindu and later a Buddhist temple….

4) CHAN CHAN – PERU

 

The largest Pre-Columbian city in South America ,  Chan Chan is believed to have been constructed around 850 AD by the Chimú. It was the Chimor empire capital city with an estimated population of 40,000-60,000 people.


3) WHITE TEMPLE – THAILAND

Unusual and popular Wat Rong Khun, better known to foreigners as the White temple, this one’s construction began in 1997 by noted Thailand painter-turned architect Chalermchai Kositpita. He considers the temple to be an offering to Lord Buddha and believes the project will give him immortal life. Before getting there i saw it from a distance and was like glittering porcelain.

2) BAGAN – MYANMAR

 

Small and nondescript, big and imposing, huge and magnificent, the entire city is filled with temple, they are everywhere and over 2,000 of them…Welcome to the Ancient Burmese Empire….

1) TANA TORAJA- INDONESIA

 

Tana Toraja and the most distinct funeral rituals in the world. For the Toraja people, all their lives rotate around death. For them is the majesty of the funeral and not the wedding, that marks a family status and it is a great celebration of life. Without a proper funeral rite the soul of the deceased will cause misfortune to his family….

    Peru es un pais hermoso, con una cultura milenaria y una gastronomia que se encuentra dentro de las mas aplaudidas y versátiles Del mundo. Los vestigios incas que posee el pais se encuentran intactos , gracias a ello podemos viajar al pasado e indagar sobre la historia del pais.
    Peru es simplemete un destino para perderse dentro de su rica cultura y viajar al
    Pasado.
